CAPE TOWN MARITIME COLLEGE
SAMSA Accredited Maritime Study Programs

Navigation Programme

Cape Town Maritime College offers formal study programs for Navigation students for the following: (i) Officer of a Navigation Watch [A-II/1] and (ii) Master (Unlimited) [A-II/2]. Courses can be done via blended learning, or contact classes from our venues in Cape Town.

Cape Town Maritime College has recently opened a second venue in the same Foregate Square complex, which is to serve primarily as a Navigation studies venue; housing a chart room, a classroom, a computer room and a simulator venue.

Captain Blaise Morris has been appointed to head up the Navigation division. With decades of experience as a ships master, including experience on many classes of vessels within industry, he has a wealth of industry experience to share, as well as having years of experience as a maritime lecturer at a university.

Miss Leonie Louw will be joining Captain Morris to offer chart work subjects and the legal components. Miss Louw is the primary Maritime law lecturer for seafarers in South Africa, and serves as Cape Town Maritime College's quality assurance officer.

The technical subjects, which form part of the navigation program bouquet, will be done by Chief Engineer Lambert, who holds a PhD in maritime education.
